Final Hand Polish of Lacquerware

THE BURMADE WAY

Final Coats &
Hand Polish

DEPTH

Sealing the narrative. Multiple finishing coats are applied to lock in the intricate colors and engraved details. It is in this final stage that the lacquer achieves its characteristic depth—a surface that looks wet even when it is completely dry.

The Wet Polish

After the final, extensive cure, our artisans begin the laborious process of hand-polishing. We utilize ultra-fine abrasives and natural oils, rubbing the surface in a continuous, rhythmic motion. The friction and warmth draw out the lacquer's innate, deep-seated luminosity.

The Burmade Touch

We do not believe in a single, universal standard. We deliberately tune the final sheen of every object. Whether it requires a brilliant high-gloss, a soft, diffused satin, or a completely understated museum-matte finish, we tailor the polish to perfectly suit the artifact's ultimate purpose and modern environment.
