THE BURMADE WAY
STEP 02
Preparing the Sap
THITSI
The essence of Yun-de lies in the purity of its medium. We gently warm the natural lacquer sap (from Gluta/Melanorrhoea usitata) under halogen lamps to improve flow and carefully evaporate excess moisture.
Homogenization
The sap is meticulously homogenized for up to four hours. This slow, continuous blending ensures an absolute, even consistency, crucial for the flawless microscopic layers that define our work.
Fine Filtration
Finally, the refined sap is filtered through a tightly woven fine cloth. This critical step removes any remaining natural impurities and stabilizes the viscosity, creating a perfect, pure medium ready for the artisan's hand.
